"What's your inspiration?" I get this question a lot, far more than any other. And I have no answer to this. An artist does not need "inspiration" to make art. Salvador Dali said " An artist is not the one who is inspired, an artist is the one who inspires others." I remember my mom once did a piece of calligraphy that said "Most any artist knows that if they sit around waiting for inspiration, they will have a very small body of work. Inspiration usually comes during work, rather than before it. " Madeleine L'Engle. Picasso was know to carry a gun loaded with blanks and he would shoot it at people who asked him this question. LOL It's really like any other career, you show up everyday and put in time even when you don't feel like it. And then you push yourself harder. There is no magic formula for inspiration. A novice might only paint when they feel inspired, the professional does it everyday.
